HELP THE ELDERLY SEE WITH CATARACT SURGERY

Today about 85% of the 12 million visually impaired in India can be cured by a simple operation that takes only 15 minutes to perform.

The Indians living below the poverty line, are left with no hope when they are left with unrecovered health problems. We think that quality eye care is a distant reality for such people, and they often survive their life with partial vision, which makes their condition unproductive and miserable.

 Care Netram detects 10000+ rural poor people who need to have cataract surgery every year. Our team reaches out on their doorstep and screen them free of cost and those who are unfortunately detected with cataract are further sent with reference to our partnered hospitals where their treatment is done free of cost.

Care Netram works with local hospitals so that the community outreaches in remotest corners to screen and start referring people who are in need of cataract treatment.

We have so far conducted 80,000+ free eye tests and have facilitated 600+ free of cost Cataract operation for rural underprivileged.

We are therefore raising funds so that we can reach 10000+ underprivileged by the end of 2020, provide those in need with free cataract surgery, transportation facilities with free food and a stay at the hospital, and follow up care and also avail them spectacles post-surgery.

 A simple cataract surgery (which costs not more than INR 1500) not only restores vision, but it also restores dignity. Because often it helps the elderly start earning again thereby reducing their dependence on others.
