For thousands of years, martial arts have been used to teach self-defense and powerful life skills. Kuk Sool Won of Menlo Park is not just a kick and punch school; it also focuses on character development, and helps students develop respect, good etiquette, concentration, and discipline. Through events and programs, Kuk Sool Won of Menlo Park is building community, developing leaders, and transforming lives.
We strongly believe that Martial Arts can benefit all students. Unfortunately, it’s not affordable to every family. To help bridge this gap, the students of Kuk Sool Won of Menlo Park gather annually for an hour long, nonstop kick-a-thon to raise money for those in need.
In 2015, 64 students completed 127,610 kicks - an average of nearly 2000 kicks per student. We raised $13,193, enabling us to provide scholarships to 21 students in need, including 5 black belts and 10 black belts in training.
We strongly urge you to sponsor one kicker and donate at least 1¢ per kick by that student. That’s a small donation of about $20 for a whole lotta kicks and a whole lotta help for a student in need.
The Kick-a Thon is an annual event run by Kuk Sool Won of Menlo Park on behalf of MACDA, Inc. MACDA stands for Martial Arts Character Development Association and is 100% volunteer powered, registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. 99% of donations go directly to helping students in need and 100% of donations are tax deductible.
We do not take any cut or commissions from donors and fundraisers. Payments are securely made via PCI compliant payment processing partners of the fundraiser.
