CoronaVirus has brought unprecedented problems upon the Indian economy and has colossally affected the the Farmers and The Daily Wage Labor.
Indian households and economies specifically rely on the hard work and labor of these two sections of the workforce.
With the closure of procurements centers and markets, sales have crashed. Farmers are now selling their produce at INR600 to INR1000 less per quintal. Payments to the farmers have also stopped.
Migrant workers have been forced to return to their villages and towns because of the sudden stoppage of all commercial activities. These workers and their families completely depend upon the daily wages they receive.
These daily wage earners also do not have substantial savings in terms of money that might help them to endure this sudden economic crisis arising because of the global pandemic.
