For all the Indians living below poverty line, there is practically no hope if they were to develop a health problem.
Quality eye care is a distant reality for such people, and they often live a life with partial vision, which makes them unproductive and miserable. Care Netram detects 10000+ rural poor with cataract every year by reaching out to their doorstep and screening them free of cost and those detected with cataract are sent to partner hospitals for free of cost surgery.
Care Netram works with local partner hospitals to:
· Do community outreaches in remotest corners to screen and refer people in need of cataract treatment.
· Provide free cataract surgery, transport and follow up care.
. Provide spectacles post-surgery.
The patients are provided with transportation facilities with free food and stay at the hospital.
Many a times they are brought from as far as 200 - 300 KMs.
