We are organizing India’s first Grand Digital India Mela, ‘Prayag’, on 25^th of February, 2017, at Suraj Kund Mela Ground, Faridabad, Haryana.

Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) has been working towards addressing digital poverty at the grassroots level through technology. We have come a long way since we started 13 years ago, but there is still a long way to go. Even now 70% of rural India is far from being digitally connected. https://defindia.org/

Prayag is People’s Mela to celebrate digital movement in semi-urban and rural India so that it inspires and propels the long journey which is still left to be covered. Prayag means confluence; and this digital mela is a confluence of positive energies, thoughts, ideas and insights of more than 10,000 people comprising 2000 people from grassroots communities from 22 India states, 1500 NGOs, 100 Educational Institutions, 3000 Innovators, 50 Folk Musicians, 200 Artisans, 1000 ICT Experts from India and South Asian countries, who are actively driving change at the grassroots level. We’ll experience life in a digitally connected smart village for a day that will be replicated through a number of fun-filled activities at Prayag-

Lots of love, effort, dedication and sincerity is going into realizing this cherished dream. However, we are falling short of resources to achieve this vision.
