SECURING PRAJWALA- AN ANTI-TRAFFICKING INTERVENTION

After we extended our crowdera deadline last week, a complimentary opportunity to raise funds presented itself and we would like to share it with you as a way to continue support. Donations are still needed and very welcome, but for those of you who have already donated and would like to still contribute a few seconds a day, Microsoft's #upgradeyourworld campaign is a great way to help Prajwala win $500,000 to sustain operations and build an economic rehabilitation center and emergency shelter. Each person can vote once per day until voting closes August 23.

We are thrilled to announce that we have made some great strides this week. A few large donations have come in, one large personal donation and many as a result of a Sakshi TV spot, which was broadcast on Monday. The video can be watched below. We know that we will be able to accomplish big things together and are so thankful for all you have done so far to support our mission and critical cause.

Update #2: The Land is bought for the shelter and economic rehabilitation center! We are thrilled that we found this beautiful property close to the Hyderabad airport. Yesterday, Prajwala completed 'Bhoomi Puja', or a prayer offering to the land before construction starts. Today, the bore well (water from the earth) and the electricity connections were be secured. Both of these are required before the actual construction starts. It is just a race against time now.

Prajwala's rehabilitation shelter 60km from Hyderabad city is rehabilitating 32 of the survivors, the rest of the rescued girls or women have gone to other NGOs rehabilitation sites.

Great things are happening and will continue to happen because of your support. We still have a long way to go to make our goal so please continue to spread the word. Every little bit brings us closer to ending the flesh trade. Thank you so much.
